"I think it's so hypocritical how the LGBT community expects every single flippen person to agree with their life style," she said in a blog post.
"I hate how the LGBT community says it's all about 'love' and 'equality,'" she continued. "However, if you don't agree with their lifestyle, they spread the most hate. It is so hypocritical it makes my stomach turn. They need to learn how to respect others' opinions and not just jump to the conclusion that everyone who doesn't support homosexuality and gay marriage is homophobic."
Palin has denied in the past that she is herself "a homophobic."
"I like gays," she said in July 2012. "I'm not a homophobic and I'm so sick of people saying that. Just because I'm for traditional marriage doesn't really mean I'm scared or anything of anyone else, and I don't hate anybody."
Palin hasn't just been criticized for her opposition to gay marriage: She also made a gay joke during her first run on "Dancing," in 2010.

(153 posts)be assigned any credibility about anything in life. And ditto for Robertson.
Maybe the question should be: Why does someone like Phil Robertson even have an opinion about gay Americans? Since they clearly aren't having relationships with him and likely avoid his personally-selected-religious-interpretations (or should I say force-fed interpretations) what makes the media think he is entitled to a damned opinion about something he clearly knows nothing about? It's the same with the Palins and the rest of the right-wing chorus of "freedom of speech" claimers - what makes them think the rest of the world gives a damn about their "opinions" about people and lives they don't know crap about? These people have enough trouble managing their own damned lives and they need to learn to keep their noses on their own faces.
. . .and while I'm on this mini-rant, let me just add another message to right-wingers who claim to be obsessed about your "freedom of speech" in front of a microphone - don't go on about hating "political correctness" and then throw a fu*king tantrum just because someone says "Happy Holidays".

(8,267 posts)that ~42-45% of this nation's adult population (depending on which research you cite) is functionally illiterate?
Frankly, I think -- given how degraded is our system of public education -- the percentage is much higher now.

(31,798 posts)I used to tutor adults who never had a shot - example - Emma through literacy volunteers. In 1998 she was 62 and had moved to Western Ny in her 20s from South Carolina. A poor black share cropper's daughter - she had to leave school at 12.
The world and circumstances she was born into - by design she read at the kindergarten level when I met her.
Bristol Palin is an "adult" now. She's fair game to call an asshole who is deliberately ignorant.

(24,461 posts)And here's another mistake you're making: Their life doesn't require nor seek your approval or opinion to be respected. Their life is just like yours, mine and everyone else's; only difference is they have a lot more stupid tossed their way than most.
Oh, and another thing . . . If you don't agree that two people that have nothing at all to do with your existence, not causing you an atom speck of harm in any way (other than their "ewww gross" intimacy obviously annoying you) don't deserve the same happiness and human rights as your gawd-slobbering, hetero-normative world does .. . yeah, that would be "hatred", Slappy.

Like the rest of the anti equality folks, she wants to do whatever she wants and call that 'tradition' and claim being a knocked up teen with a doofus boyfriend is the standard to which we should all aspire.
