Tonight let's wish President Obama success in carrying out a progressive agenda through 2014!

Let's wish him success in expanding Social Security so that no senior citizen has to choose between heat and food.

Let's wish him success in negotiating fair trade treaties instead of treaties that benefit the wealthy at the expense of the poor.

Let's wish him success in opening the doors of government and letting the sun shine in.

Let's wish him success in making sure that no US soldier dies or kills in the name of Big Oil.

Let's wish him success in recreating a truly progressive tax structure so that corporations stop taking tax dollars from the poor.

Let's wish him success in bailing out homeowners instead of Wall Street.

And lastly, let's wish him success in understanding that whistleblowers like Chelsea Manning and Edward Snowden are the true patriots, not moles like Clapper and Hayden.

Here's to a Happy Progressive New Year for Everyone!

Throughout our history, the US made its most wonderful progress when the republicans quit being buttwipes and joined with the most Liberal.

Right wingers now are just working to keep Obama from being a success and that is hurting the country the republicans profess to love. That some weird love they have, huh? It is as if they are wife beaters.

We the People are on the brink of demanding the republicans stop their craziness and get with the program. The host of problems the US faces are so critical that we need them to get on board asap.

Let's wish that the American People figure out that voting for republicans is bad for one's health and pocketbook.

But those items are not on his agenda.

So instead I will wish the American people luck in putting those items on the President's agenda, holding his feet to the fire, and making the President do it.

Let's dump the Blue Dogs and elect Progressives to help the American people achieve these goals.

If, however, he doesn't want to work toward a progressive agenda then I wish success for those who will.

PBO should be given very high ratings. Drawing down two wars and getting a form of the ACA passed, he even finally got the Republicans to make a budget bill. He seems to pick his battles pretty carefully and knows when its not worth it.

If we consider what the President has been up against, the culture of war from 2003 and the huge financial interests arrayed against him, he's done a pretty good job and I'm satisfied I made the right decision to vote for him twice.

Wishing is the only way something progressive gets through a Republican house.

BTW did you also do a thankful Thanksgiving OP for all Obama has done or did his actions not pass your "progressive" test?

It seems to me that doing nothing but complaining when others take action is a part of why the Democratic party is only able to pass mediocre centrist legislation. If you'd like to express how thankful you are to President Obama for his actions the you should probably create that thread instead of asking if I have done it.

Or is that too much trouble?
