Unfortunately.

No physical evidence, no DNA evidence and the physical indicators (intact hymen, etc etc) tended towards exonerating him rather than convicting him.

The only witness has recanted her allegations consistently over a period of time. He's been in jail the whole while so no question of him intimidating her.

You really have to feel for him.
