Defeatism Is Not Activism! Please Work to Defeat Defeatism.

Every time someone posts some thread here on DU, on Facebook, or anywhere on the Internet that predicts doom and gloom for Democrats in the 2014 mid-term elections, I resolve to speak up in that thread and call it out for the defeatism it is. We are faced with a very real possibility of regaining a majority in the House of Representatives in November. In every state, there are House Districts currently held by Republicans that we can win. What will win those states is the kind of local, grassroots activism that has proven itself many times over. Defeatism will not win those districts. Instead a strong, local effort by Democrats who are willing to get out and bring Democratic voters to the polls in record numbers will win those districts.

If you see defeatism on the Internet, step up and call it out. Use it to encourage voters. Use that opportunity to call for the opposite of defeatism in retaking the House of Representatives for Democrats. We can do it if each of us makes the effort. Otherwise, the risk of falling backward is a real possibility.

In 2014, let's all resolve to do whatever is in our power to regain control of Congress, and to increase our positions in state legislators. What do you say?

out and out defeatism. Being realistic helps. Defeatism doesn't.

Which "us" do you represent, there, FatBuddy? It's unclear, since we don't have much to go by so far from you. You could start by identifying people who are in this "criminal political class." For example, would you include President Obama in that group? Be specific, so we'll know who you mean.

Do they prefer Little Ceasar's or Dominos?

I agree, Government of the people not Government for the few. Do not rest until those scum face the justice of their anti-Democratic policies and they are completely removed from any power.

Look her up. I also helped Al Franken get elected. Do you have a problem with him, too.

I work to elect the best, most progressive candidate who can win in whatever jurisdiction I'm voting in. That's my strategy, and I work hard at it, too.

If you don't like what I do, just let me know, and I'll be sure to take it under consideration. Who would you prefer from those two jurisdictions to be in Congress?
