Tennessee Man Suing A&E, GLAAD, and Obamaover Duck Dynasty Suspension
In a post-mortem of sorts to the gigantic mess that was the Duck Dynasty controversy, a Tennessee man is filing suit against A&E, GLAAD, and President Obama for religious persecutionover the suspension of Phil Robertson, and uses some rather interesting visuals to make his point.

Now, you may wonder why the President of the United States would be named in this lawsuit. Sevier explains one reason why.
A&E knowingly took a course of conduct, in bad faith, to send a message to Christians to not oppose the same-sex agenda in hopes of advancing a counter-productive-social initiative championed by the Obama administration.
He also asserts that Obama weighed in on the Duck Dynasty controversy directly, but the quote he attributes to the president is from a work of satire. Seviers previous claim to fame was when he sued Apple, trying to force them to make it harder to access porn on their devices.

(111,134 posts)and if this is the way a monumentally stupid man wants to waste what wealth he has, then let him.
It represents fewer campaign contributions going to teabagger candidates.

(14,914 posts)a few years ago. He has been in trouble with the law at least twice for aggravated stalking in 2013, once for stalking the country singer John Rich and in the other case a 17-year-old girl. He was ordered by the court at one point to wear a GPS tracking device. He is an Iraq vet and is reported to have PTSD, and evidently has otherserious issues as well. I'm sure there are mentally ill veterans in your own locale, so I don't see why you feel the need to trash an entire state.

(53,661 posts)That link includes a picture and a video. All PR is good PR in some circles. And from the video, he has people working with him for these stunts. He's neither 'stupid' nor 'mentally ill' compared to those adjudicated as 'incapacitated.'
Here's a local news video of him:
More smoke and mirrors than fire here. He is pulling out any name or theme, just like any republican, to sell his product. And being a narcissist, self-promoting jerk who does obnoxious things is not a crime.

(11,366 posts)The lawsuit was dismissed by U.S. District Judge S. Thomas Anderson in Memphis on June 20 after he concluded that none of the plaintiffs had established sufficient legal standing to assert their claims.
On Aug. 24, Judge Anderson granted a motion by the defendants, including the Tennessee Democratic Party, to sanction the plaintiffs for bringing a case in which their attorney, Van Irion of Knoxville, "knew or reasonably should have known that the claims in this case had no basis in law," according to the judges order.
