Can You Pass A U.S. Citizenship Test? Try it and find out!

In light of my husband's goal to become a U.S. Citizen this year after having been a Permanent Resident Alien for twenty-nine and a half years (he didn't want to before, but now he believes it's time AND he wants to vote!), I've been looking into the test questions that might be posed to those who wish to become American citizens these days.

I found this one that was pretty fun to do:
http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/2011/0104/Could-you-pass-a-US-citizenship-test/Who-signs-bills

It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be! I did score 93% when the average is 86%, I believe.

Anyway, try your hand and see if your knowledge of our history, our government, and our country are up to par.

Good luck!

Shouldn't have missed the three I did.

On the other hand, at my age (65) I really ought to know just about everything on the test.

Picked none instead of capitalist.

Also wanted to fulfill my wishful thinking that we held Canadians as slaves.

Oh well, I passed.

I wonder how Teabaggers would do if they took the test?

It's a test to see how many people they can fool into giving them a whole bunch of page-clicks.

To that end, I scored a big fat zero for them.

the questions were poorly worded. I hope a real citizenship test has questions that are more precise.

Most of the ones I missed were history ones...I've never taken any American history courses or anything so that was where I had issues, especially anything with the constitution and declaration of independence and the history of those things. Anything current I had no problems with.

But I really, really wanted to argue with some of the answers. I knew what they wanted but I wanted to split hairs and point out how it was more complex than their tidy one word answer.
