Potemkin village voting machines?

Haven't heard much on the NSA possibility or probability of hacking into voting computers, but the 2014 elections are almost upon us and I despair that our democracy has become but a silly fraud. And the rest of the world would be laughing if we did not have the likes of Junior running with the atomic football.

We have a big problem with the voting integrity in this country. We have a huge and powerful intelligence agency that probably has access to voting systems, a monetary interest and ability to tamper with election outcomes, and very limited or no oversight by the public or congress. And, worst of all, a selfish and apathetic public that is happy funding such a government full of criminals and deceptions, as long as it can be sufficiently fooled into a complacent security.

When I discuss the NSA and voting machine hacking with people hereabouts the focus shifts to the emotionally charged and rewardingly divisive issues of whistleblowers' lawful punishments and intelligence agencies' rights to comprehensive secrecy and actions beyond the law to protect our collective asses.

We need at least a paper trail and citizen oversight of elections, now, before the elections in November. And obviously also some effective oversight of the NSA. I suspect that at least it will be disclosed that the NSA has evidence of other attempts or successes in hacking voting machines.
