Hell yeah ... the ACA!

Took my whole family to the dentist this morning for some cleanings. No co-pay. Pursuant to the ACA, all preventive medicine must be covered by most group health insurance plans (mercifully, we have one that falls under the ACA).

The law's not perfect, by a long shot, but we did make the United States a better place when we passed it, and I look forward to its ushering in a national, single-payer system as soon as we can pull it off.

My hat is off to my party and to President Barack Obama (both of whom I regularly criticize). Through the judicious use of the power of government to shape our collective experience, the lives of the American people have improved. I just experienced it for myself.

More specifics on dental and vision coverage can be found here: http://www.sibson.com/publications/HCRI/dec2010DV.pdf

Your comment is wonderful. I have turned a few reds blue, (well, at least purple), by asking them what they would like their tax dollars to pay for.

...have a link to the Medicaid requirement that applicants need to have a limited vocabulary? Did you mean to imply Medicaid recipients are stupid?

In some cases, no. It depends on the specifics of your group health plan and whether or not dental coverage is optional.

Here's some guidance I found: http://www.sibson.com/publications/HCRI/dec2010DV.pdf

In most cases, I don't think dental and vision are covered - but it is nice to know that in some instances they are!

Too bad because dental and vision insurance reform is sorely need in this country. The limits on my dental insurance are pretty ridiculous and the insurance isn't cheap.
