Martin Scorsese's latest film now sets the "all-time record" for the use of the F-word, Variety reports. According to the film's Wikipedia page, "The Wolf of Wall Street" uses the word 506 times in 180 minutes. Spike Lee's 1999 "Summer of Sam" previously held the record with 435 F-bombs.
Scorsese's excessive film isn't the only movie in his portfolio to make the list of flicks with the most F-words. "Casino" has 422 instances, while "Goodfellas" has 300.
"The Wolf of Wall Street," starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill, is based on the true story of Jordan Belfort and his rise to a wealthy stockbroker living the high life, to his fall involving crime, corruption and the federal government.

(7,051 posts)DiCaprio and Hill are brilliant. The satire isn't very subtle at times, but overall it's a much more subversive indictment of the "industry" than Stone's "Wall Street." Although, the two would make a great double feature ...

I agree it's very subversive, but mostly for intelligent people. Even those who see it as nothing but entertaining will realize it's not complimentary though.

(46,436 posts)It's really an entertaining movie, and Leo is great. We did comment, though, that there seemed to be a lot of "fucks" involved. I guess it wasn't our imagination.

(31,688 posts)Pretty bad too - but that was Belfort's reality - especially growing up with a father that cussed as much as he describes his father in the book.
