(70,186 posts)voted and endorsed him. I do not know what it will take. He is a vindictive man.

(12,081 posts)is enough outrage they will take back their endorsements. Unfortunately, there's not much outrage over how a politician treats teachers. Not enough outrage, no action. They are all a bunch of spineless cowards.

(171,056 posts)after an election? And who cares?? I think Christie is in a heap of shit all by his onesies; I just plan to sit back and laugh and laugh!

(9,461 posts)positive reward? I heard a few folks say those who endorsed him were looking for a change in where Rutgers sub-universities ended up or something like that.

(45,319 posts)victory, for his Democratic opponent was 'bad' and Christie was hugely popular.

(2,419 posts)need their own post at some point. Regardless, there are several basic reasons why there were democrats who endorsed Christie. First is the influence of developers and business interests. They own the South Jersey democrats and they created Christie. Second, is Sandy aid. The rules give the governor's office almost total control over the distribution of the several billion in disaster aid. The choice was easy, endorse Christie or your devastated town may not receive the aid you need. There were several other factors in play, but those two are the main ones. I am reasonably certain that there was some kind of deal to suppress turnout in the big democratic counties of the state that gave Christie his big margin. They let Buono hang out to dry. Inexcusable.

(27,787 posts)They knew he'd win.
And they knew that after he won, he'd be vindictive and take it out on their constituents if they went against him.
This is simply an example of that reality.

(45,319 posts)a scandal ridden albatross around their necks. This power to know the future they claim seems to have serious limitations which might suggest it is not really prescience but merely cowardice they displayed. Moderate, centrist, bipartisan friendly cowardice of course.

In the eyes of the people of NJ, Christie responded effectively to Sandy. The end.
NJ politics has always been corrupt, and the winners have almost always been vindictive afterwards. Anyone who knows NJ politics even just a little, knows this.
They knew Christie would win, and that he'd take any grudges out on their constituents if they crossed him.
And that's EXACTLY what happened to the mayor of Fort Lee.
The good news is that it might come back to bite Christie on his ample butt.
Oh, and none of this scandal will transfer to any of them. Everyone in NJ knows exactly why they endorsed him (political extortion by Christie), and all this situation does is provide direct evidence of that.
