Bridgegate has reached the critical "what did he know and when did he know it" phase

Okay, so he claims to have found out the facts today about a situation the press was needling him about several weeks ago, and went with "rogue staff".

That is an easier step taken early on in these things. If he had gone with "rogue staff" initially, then it is easier to avoid:

There will be hearings, and subpoenas, and prosecutions, and resignations.

And Rand Paul is somewhere fashioning one-liners that combine references to Tony Soprano and Barack Obama.

I wish shredding machines had logs. I bet they've been seeing a lot of use lately. I hope someone on the staff kept some backup electronic records to CYA. These republicans are never shy about destroying evidence. (Read: Mit Romney destroying hard drives before leaving the Gov. office in MA, Scott Walker's team shredding and dumping literal dumpsters full of documents, the GOP in WI erasing hard drives and emails en mass regarding their behind-closed-doors redistricting process, and on and on and on.)

I'm sure he thinks he's destroyed all evidence of his prior knowledge of bridge-gate/bridgeghazi but let's hope someone buried some insurance!
