January 9th Senate Judiciary Committee executive meeting AGENDA: http://www.judiciary.senate.gov/hearings/hearing.cfm?id=32caee8082f9297f0e7df6280b40af6e&3

Monday President Obama renominated 54 of the 55 judicial nominees the Senate sent back to the White House on Dec 20th

Thursday the Senate Judiciary Committee has an executive business meeting scheduled with a HUGE agenda: http://www.judiciary.senate.gov/hearings/hearing.cfm?id=32caee8082f9297f0e7df6280b40af6e&3
with 29 judicial nominees listed to be voted out of committee so they can be sent to the full senate.

At the last TWO judiciary executive meetings (and one hearing) the Republicans refused to show up, therefore they did not have a quorum and those meetings were canceled/postponed.
Regarding the canceled November meeting here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251340508
Regarding the canceled December meeting here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251344256#post2

So, what do you think will happen tomorrow?

Senate without republicans participating. Not showing up should count as a yes vote.

There is an issue I am personally interested in that is on the agenda that has been waiting too long. I am trying to be optimistic.

At last Business Meeting a couple nominees for US Marshalls were voted out of Committee, but all judicial nominees were held over.....Now, that they've be renominated, i think the GOP were hold them over again...

If they don't vote on ALL the judicial nominees by end of next week, then Leahy needs to change rules in the SJC...One thing he could definitely do is not honor the blue slip rule, if a GOP senator refuses to return blue slip, proceed with the nomination anyway...When Senator Hatch was Chairman of Judiciary Committee, he proceeded with nominations even when Democratic senators didn't return blue slips....
