The George Washington Bridge scandal that has ensnared New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) this week is a drama with a full cast of characters, each with a particular part to play.
You have the instigator, the target, the muscle and the Democrats ready to pounce. Keeping everybody straight can be tough. We're here to help.
Here's a rundown of everybody that you need to know:
David Wildstein, Former Port Authority Of New York And New Jersey Official
He was appointed to the post by Christie, and he and the governor have reportedly been friends since high school. Wildstein has been at the heart of the scandal. Another Port Authority official told New Jersey lawmakers that it was Wildstein who had ordered the lane closures on the George Washington Bridge. He allegedly instructed bridge officials to conceal the closures from police and other local authorities.

(8,694 posts)1. the other documents
as sloppy as the conspirators were, I bet there is some damning stuff.
Assemblyman John Wisniewski, who has been investigating the bridge scandal, told TPM he estimated he had received at least 3,000 pages of documents in response to the subpoenas. Only 22 pages of documents emerged on Wednesday

especially if Wildstein is criminally charged. What can Christie offer him to take the hit and keep Christie's name out of this mess?

I would like to know what "Woodstein" thinks about all of this.

I know. It's like when the debates are happening during a presidential election, or when a presidential primary race is nearing its finish. An avalanche of news and opinion, and I still can't get enough.
