Dennis Rodman is sorry. In a statement emailed from his publicist to the Associated Press, the former basketball player apologized for his strange rant on CNN on Tuesday.
I take full responsibility for my actions, he said, according to the news wire. Rodman said the interview came at the end of a stressful day. My dream of basketball diplomacy was quickly falling apart. I had been drinking.
The ex-NBA star went on to apologize to Chris Cuomo, who conducted the interview, as well as the family of Kenneth Bae, an American citizen currently detained in North Korea. In the interview, Rodman seemed to imply Bae was to blame for his own arrest.

(13,462 posts)Most people just get drug out the bar door and thrown into a cab when drunk, or arrested; some are positioned to drunk-dial the world stage, unfortunately.

(10,044 posts)and hoping he'd have some success in our relations with North Korea and was so disappointed in his drunken rage during Cuomo's interview....
I was so pleased to read this OP and hope that everyone forgives him and he gets another chance. I can't believe he meant any harm. Maybe he didn't understand the ramifications of his outburst, and that it hurt Bea's familiy, his own good intentions, and it hurt No. Korea as well. He so wanted better relations...so do most of us I am sure.
His apology is good news.....
