Right from the start, when asked, Christy asserted it was no big deal...

Christy's "orange cone" statement (which by the way, every time I see the film clip it looks like he is *ugh* doing the mambo with his hand). Is a bold-faced attempt to minimize and say no big deal.

Fast forward to another film clip of him standing and making another bold-faced attempt at saying it's the national press making a big deal out of no big deal.

During the days the bridge was closed, the mayor of Ft. Lee NJ contacted the various NJ state departments to get to the bottom of the bridge closing, his calls were not returned.

The NJ State Democrats need to get behind the mayor of Ft. Lee, and I do mean behind as in a large group at a presser, and for once do the honorable thing and stand up against Christy.

As I once told a young woman who was complaining about her husband "Don't want to hear it...he's the guy you had to have."

So goes the NJ Democrats who endorsed Christy - Ninga sez...."he's the guy you had to have...now grow a pair, stand up for the mayor of Ft. Lee and make it right."

http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2014/01/chris-christie-bridge-traffic-jam-emails

Quote:
"The Christie administration's decision to create a massive traffic jam by closing two access lanes to the George Washington Bridge resulted in delayed response times for local emergency responders in four different emergencies, according to Fort Lee's EMS chief.

In one case, the Bergen Record reports, the traffic jam slowed down paramedics as they tried to reach an unconscious 91-year-old woman. The woman later died in the hospital, though EMS officials say her death was not a direct result of the delays. In another case, it took paramedics seven to nine minutes—double the normal time—to reach a car accident where four people sustained injuries."

Somebody MIGHT have died because of that traffic-jam, but nobody DID die because of it.

It's enough that emergency vehicles were delayed in life-threatening emergencies.

someone called 9/11 and she was in pain there for hours waiting for an ambulance to show up.

Do you think it's right for anyone, including a 91 year old woman, to lay there in pain for over 4 hours waiting for the ambulance to show up and give her something to help ease the pain?

That is just inhumane.

To me it doesn't matter if he "knew."

The biggie is he didn't care. That is the hammer NJ Dems must use. He didn't think the bridge closing was a big deal, and thus the basis for him not caring.

Where is Buono? She should be hammering the hell out of NJ Dems. Maybe she is. Hope so.

That is all those Dem mayors have to say, because it's the truth, and now that should be even MORE obvious.

They endorsed Christie because they fears what he'd do to their constituents if they did not.

This should be what every one is pointing out.

some specific proof.

Why do YOU think they endorsed him?

What better explanation do you have?

As I've explained in other threads on this topic, the threats are implied and almost never stated explicitly.

Either you pay the protection money or something bad will happen to your store.

Very hard to prove.

That is the story. That is the meme. If the NJ Dem's do not take this and run with it then that entire state is fucked.

to all scandals. The thing is, it works most of the time. (Bush and the Iraqi war.) Occasionally it doesn't. This time it didn't because it screwed over people of both parties. Christie surrounded himself with truly stupid people.

are classic Christie. Indicative of his character. And those remarks will be widely spread now that the scandal is receiving national attention. I've said all along that Christie would never get through primaries because he'd implode over his own ego. I had no idea the implosion would come so soon. As Jon Stewart said last night, "Paul Ryan's hard-on can now be seen from space."

I can not say it enough.

He can not apologize away the fact that by his own words he didn't think it a big deal...and how in the world can anyone care about something if it's not a big deal.

He does care about the constituents who are governed by a Democratic mayor who didn't support him.
