Chris Christie: 'I am not a crook'

Chris Christie: 'I am not a crook'

by Laurence Lewis

Chris Christie wants us to know that he is not a crook!

Christie was betrayed by long-time insiders Haldeman Bridget Anne Kelley and Ehrlichman David Wildstein.

Christie is innocent and wants to put this behind him.

Now, Watergate and the George Washington Bridge Scandal are obviously very different. But the attempt by a political bully to cut his losses by blaming his closest friends and aides for a scandal that threatens to destroy his career is too reminiscent.

Will there be a smoking gun directly linking Christie to the scandal? Time will tell. But does anyone honestly believe that the bully and details man Christie was left out of the loop when political retribution was being planned?

Watergate and the George Washington Bridge Scandal are obviously very different. So are Christie and Nixon. Among other things, Nixon never got to be governor. And Christie will never be president.

Gov. #Christie never met Mayor Sokolich? This photo says otherwise. Mayor is far left.

Christie Thinks It's 'Crazy' To Even Consider Resigning Over Bridge Scandal

Embattled New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) thinks it's "crazy" to even consider the idea of resigning over the George Washington Bridge scandal that he maintains he had nothing to do with.

"Did you ever for even a brief moment entertain the idea of perhaps you should resign?" asked a reporter at a Thursday press conference.

"God no," he responded. "That's a crazy question, man. I'm telling you, I had nothing to do with this. So you know, no, I never gave any thought to doing that at all, nor would I. What was I thinking about last night when I couldn't go to sleep? How did this happen? That's what I was thinking about."
