(WJBK) - Sources have confirmed to Fox 2's Alexis Wiley that Detroit City Council president pro tem George Cushingberry Jr. was let off after an open alcoholic beverage container and marijuana was discovered inside his vehicle.

The officer wanted to arrest and charge Cushingberry, and the officer's supervisor came on scene. The supervisor then issued a ticket to Cushingberry and let him go. The officer who made the discovery then reported the incident to the department.

DWI is a victimless crime, unless you get into a wreck or something. But what are the odds of THAT happening?

And we are pretty sure he was a first time offender.

And if he WAS above the limit, surely the supervisor who came in and overruled the officer who wanted to charge would have said, "OK, go ahead and bring him in for a blood test and booking."

So how did he get in the officer's world to begin with?

dictator, and the majority black city no longer has the democratic right to elect their own leaders.

City Council has no power to do anything but what the dictator approves.

You are right. Having an appointed dictator is appalling.

But back to our story: The supervisor is now under investigation. The councilman said it was an old bottle and his friend's medical marijuana.

He was originally pulled over on a failure to signal violation. Allegedly, the councilman attempted to flee, and then flashed his city council badge.

"A supervisor was contacted who responded to the scene. A decision was made that the council person would be cited and released. That did happen, there was no arrest," confirms Detroit Police Chief James Craig.

The officer who made the discovery then reported the incident to the department. Chief James Craig has launched an internal investigation, with said supervisor at the focus of the investigation.

more important than some powerless city councilman having a beer & some pot in his car.

No doubt the beer & pot will get more attention than the EM's close ties to the financial entities who are asset stripping Detroit, however.
