Former NJ Gov interview re: Christie

I heard an interview this morning on our local (Toledo, OH) radio station 93.5 with the former Gov. of NJ. He said that Christie removed $800,000 from the budget to benefit women. The former Gov. had this in the budget for years to honor his deceased wife. Christie flat out refused to put it back in the budget when the former Gov. asked him to. I didn't catch his name.

I didn't catch how it benefited women, does anyone know anything about this? Thanks

Bsckground for you - Jim McGreevey stepped down in 2004 and Codey was the backfill for him.

Thanks for the heads up on this.

I'm convinced the real story here is judicial activism - and this would fall right in line. Now to be honest - Buono was pointing out what Christie was doing to women's health in NJ in August -

But no one in the Nationl Media cared - they loved their star and wouldn't even question him on this.

who served for 14 months when McGreevey resigned. He is a long time D senator. His wife suffered from post partum depression. Every year there was $800,000 budgeted to raise PPD awareness. Christie considered him a political rival and eliminated the funding. The senate put it back in the budget and Christie line item vetoed it.

that is not the 1/2 of it. Codey was stripped of security for public speaking events. his former chief of staff was fired from his state job. His cousin was fired from his port authority job. All of this happened on the same day.

Codey was told by a republican friend the Christie wanted to show him who is boss.

nope, Cheistie is not a spiteful ass. The lane closures have his fingerprints all over it.
