behind him for a possible prez candidacy. He will have not much success, however, in getting the money party behind him. Donors won't come flocking. They will now sense disaster surrounding this guy. He is a loose cannon and he may stay somewhat in line as governor, he won't be in the running for president...

doing the Mr. Mom role. His wife has that big, fat, Goldman Saks paycheck coming in. He's got to have something to compensate.

Fifty fifty chance he gets the nomination. Then even money he becomes President.

Why? Because if there was any direct evidence of his being involved, the State Assembly would have released it by now. As more documents are being released today, unless there is a smoking gun in there somewhere, he's fine politically speaking. If the gun isn't released today, there isn't one, and all that is going to happen is that the Democratic Party will be seen as conducting a witch hunt after the man, making him sympathetic as a victim of bullies in the State Assembly.

Worse, this helps him. Because if you try and beat him up over it he says that as soon as he became aware it wasn't just vague complaints, and there was something to the assertions, he fired the people responsible, and took personal responsibility for the actions of his staffers.

Then comes the real problem. Without something to tie him to it directly, which we're not going to get, the Democratic Party starts being viewed by voters as conspiracy theory nutcases.

Finally, nobody in Nebraska cares if folks in New Jersey had a traffic jam, intentional or not. Nobody cares in Idaho, Colorado, or wherever. I'm in Georgia, and nobody cares here either. The national media is going to move along as soon as Britney Spears has another wardrobe malfunction, or Miley Cyrus films another video naked, which she's probably doing as we speak.

This just doesn't have the legs. Even the death angle has been blown out of the water by the family who says that the delay probably didn't make any difference. So no wrongful death suit, and there is no way that the suit would uncover more than the Assembly's investigation panel.

You can hope, dream, pray, focus positive energy, burn candles and chant. Unless there is a smoking gun in todays documents, Christie is in the clear.

They're going to have to pry him out of the Drumthwacket with a crowbar. He will not go easily, nor will he go quietly. If they manage to pin it on him in such a way that he cannot lie his way out of it, all his hopes for his grand political future will be gone. All he's going to have left is being governor of New Jersey and no amount of shame is going to make him relinquish his hold on it.
