Call it “My Way, or I F*** Up your Highway,” that’s could be the new motto of troubled NJ Governor Chris Christie. If you watched the presser, and trace the history of event, it seems almost impossible to believe that Christie had no knowledge of the dangerous, vindictive, juvenile stunt that closed part of the George Washington Bridge in September. He never questioned why two of his Port Authority appointees suddenly resigned? Never asked about the alleged “traffic study” that was causing hideous traffic jams and delays of emergency services?
He hesitates to speculate on future federal investigations, probably because he knows that, ultimately, his involvement in (or knowledge of) the will be revealed. Guess he’ll just cross that bridge when he shuts it down . . . . .

I’m emailing this proposal to multiple organizations that, like yours, have an excellent record of positive results toward social, economic, and environmental justice.
Most of our problems now are due to deregulated/unregulated corporations that increasingly control our government and that set harmful policies despite our objections. These corporations ignore us unless their profits are affected.
Our means of protest are being legislated out of existence, but we still have a way to obtain a response:a peaceful week-long national strike (repeated if need be) called for by many organizations, none of which would have to bear full responsibility for coordination.(This avoids being targeted.)A list of activist groups is attached.
I propose that you speak with some or all of these groups and agree on a starting date.Then:Each group informs its members and raises funds for ads. permits, etc.Members inform non-members via social media, email, etc.Progressive talk-show hosts are informed.Two have already told me that they would publicize such a strike.
Insofar as possible, strike participants will stop supporting corporations – no buying, working, education attendance, gasoline and utility grid use, etc.Some people won’t be able to do all of this or to go a full week, but each effort will help.– Two forms of strike can be held at once.Both affect corporate profits, and both should be publicized.
1) Take to the streets, preferably in front of governmental and corporate buildings. Flash protests inspired by social media are also an option.Protest may result in arrest or police brutality, so videotaping the events and memorizing telephone numbers for personal or ACLU lawyers is advised.As shown by earlier protests, however, violence by authorities gets publicity and recruits more protesters.
2) Stay at home or in the neighborhood.Do at-home activities, or use the opportunity to hold block parties, inform neighbors, and develop community.One can’t be arrested for staying at home and doing “nothing,” so this obviates police brutality.
Suggested public statement:”Everyone here wants corporations regulated and held accountable.I particularly want (Corp. A) to stop doing (action X).” And so forth for GMOs, war. mountaintop removal coal mining, drilling, fracking, nuclear plants, low wages, foreclosures, spying, bought elections, media propaganda, pension theft, defective infrastructure, student loans, injurious pharmaceuticals, regulatory agency corruption, bee-killing chemicals, wealth inequality, subsidies to ultra-rich corporations, corporate takeover of the government, etc., etc.
Our system is broken and must be fixed or replaced.A national strike can likely accomplish this.Do you have the courage to call for one?It may now be our only chance for a peaceful solution.– Please give me your thoughts on this proposal.
