My ex has been looking for 6 months, nothing but a temp job at UPS that lasted a month and only was part time at 8 an hour. Now back to looking. She is over 50, so every application has been turned down. Also has had to avoid the scammers who just want you to buy a bunch of crap to sell 'on commission'.

The jobs aren't there, at least in Georgia.

I have seen this crap being spewed about unemployment benefits being like giving a person a fish instead of teaching them how to fish so they can do it themselves. Well, I'm here to tell you, there ain't no fish. Doesn't matter if you tell people to go get a job if they don't exist.

at 44, I have had such a spotty employment record due to family and life issues and now add to that a lack of a BA and even my experience and intelligence means nothing. AND at this age with chronic arthritis, the PHYSICAL jobs are no longer an option because I can't stand up for hours on end anymore...and trying to raise a family on $8/hr doesn't work

Gas, etc. Paper. It's mind blowing that right wingers insist that people would prefer to stay on unemployment forever. There is no proof of that, in fact, plenty of proof people go back to work as soon as they can!
