Ailes Blamed Christie for Romney's Defeat

Ailes Blamed Christie for Romney's Defeat

The Huffington Post got an early copy of The Loudest Voice in the Room notes the book reports Fox News chief Roger Ailes blamed Gov. Chris Christie (R) for Mitt Romney's loss in the 2012 presidential election:

"Around 5 p.m. on Election Day 2012, Fox News chief Roger Ailes realized that Mitt Romney would not make it to the White House. 'Thank you, Chris Christie,' Ailes groused."

"Ailes was frustrated that the New Jersey governor appeared alongside President Barack Obama days earlier to survey the damage of Hurricane Sandy. When Ailes was told polling data suggested the incident hadn't hurt the Republican Party's chances, he responded: 'Well, hugging the guy couldn't help people feel good about Romney, either.'"

Obama and Palin was his opponent perhaps he could have won. It wasn't to be. I do think those like Ailes will continue to hold Christie's hug of Obama against Christie. This will remain a problem. BUT, on the other hand Christie would be the man to beat, let them give us a soft target, I just love to send rethugs fall hard.

It was simple math.

Take California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Minnesota, New Mexico, Nevada, Wisconsin, Colorado, Maine, Vermont, and Obama was one state from locking it up. These states were all in the bag and Obama covered by 5, and they had the data. Then he was leading in Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Iowa, so the only path was a clean sweep, and Romney had no momentum.

and maybe something will stick. The only states that the Obama/Christie meeting could realistically effect were NJ & NY-ground zero for Sandy's wrath. Obama was winning those states going away anyhow. People in Ohio did not alter their votes based on "the hug". Its delusional. Actually, I thought Obama won because he lied about people getting to keep their existing health care plans? What's the next excuse? Romney just couldn't have legitimately lost.

the more they lower their chances of ever winning another presidency. They just can't accept reality.

about the Sandy relief right after Sandy. Party comes before the hurricane victims with them, of course!
