Would take over if she is not implicated - then I *believe* we would hold a special election.

but I did find this.

In the event of a vacancy in the office of Governor resulting from the death, resignation or removal of a Governor in office, or the death of a Governor-elect, or from any other cause, the Lieutenant Governor shall become Governor, until a new Governor is elected and qualifies.

In the event of simultaneous vacancies in both the offices of Governor and Lieutenant Governor resulting from any cause, the President of the Senate shall become Governor until a new Governor or Lieutenant Governor is elected and qualifies. In the event that there is a vacancy in the office of Senate President, or the Senate President declines to become Governor, then the Speaker of the General Assembly shall become Governor until a new Governor or Lieutenant Governor is elected and qualifies. In the event that there is a vacancy in the office of Speaker of the General Assembly, or if the Speaker declines to become Governor, then the functions, powers, duties and emoluments of the office shall devolve for the time being upon such officers and in the order of succession as may be provided by law, until a new Governor or Lieutenant Governor is elected and qualifies.[40]

Dems, and NJ Dem Voters could support the DEMOCRAT this time. Hopefully they've learned their lesson that when you support Republican bullies expect what you get. Christie's operation did not want a single independent Democrat in that state. It reminds me of what we found out during the Abramoff affairs when Delay et al made it a goal to exclude Democrats from everything and almost succeeded.

I would love to know the thinking, and who was responsible for it, behind ANY Democrat supporting Christie when his reputation was well known to anyone not blinded by his photo ops during Sandy. Especially since victims of the storm had already begun complaining about the handling of the tragedy.

Is there now a smoking gun that proves Crispy knew about this? Emails? Texts? Testimony from his aides?
If not, then I don't think he's going anywhere.

Did I miss something? Is there now a smoking gun implicating him?
It's a rather easy question, even for you.

Yes, I do believe that he knew about it, or should've knew about it, but, barring any concrete proof linking him to it (txts, emails, aides implicating him) then I very much doubt that he'll be impeached, the pressure may become so intense that he'll resign, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

It may be enough that no one believes him now, in which case I doubt he'd get impeached but resign.

The lyrics to the songbird's melodious trill go something like this:
"Stay out of my territory or I'll PECK YOUR GODDAMNED EYES OUT!"

I agree, he should resign, even if he didn't know about it (doubtful) he should have.

All the potential Governors in a steel cage max, no holds barred (except that one really really bad hold; but nobody would dare to do that one).
