A Flush Rush volunteer was tipped off this week that "likes" on KTLK's Facebook page were showing some suspicious activity, spiking from 153 likes on January 9 to more than 5,600 on January 10:

So what happened in Los Angeles on Friday that got people so fired up about Rush Limbaugh? Nothing. But apparently something happened in Istanbul.
Indeed, if you check out the KTLK "likers," you'll see that most of them must be tuning in to The Patriot via shortwave radio--almost all of them live in Turkey.

with no progressive talk radio terrestrial radio stations. It's gone to the birds... the Sirius-XM kind. Or with today's technology, mobile internet streaming in the car works ok in urban areas.

Plus with AM radio basically dead, and the broadcast conglomerates desire to change radio formats at a whim.... it's not a recipe for talk radio to thrive - of any kind. Add Clear Channel's happiness to yank Rush away from stations where the broadcast personally was popular, blow up their own successful stations to make him a station, and have the public radio stations move into the talk format too... the stations that he's on loses market share. In these parts WUNC has almost 3x the listeners than the Rush one.. and here, WFDD beats WPTI... the Piedmont Triad News & Arts station beats the bloviator repeatedly... especially in drivetime.
