Another Stupid Jury

the thug cops who beat a homeless man Kelly Thomas to death were set free by an ignorant jury . since this was in orange county which has a large number of wingnuts i'm sure there were more than enough idiots among potential jurors so it wouldn't have been difficult for the defense attorney to get the dumbass jury they wanted.

here is a link to see what was done to that man. it's very graphic : http://www.examiner.com/article/kelly-thomas-family-releases-graphic-photos-video-of-fatal-injuries

<The jury reached its verdict after a day of deliberation.

The centerpiece of the prosecution's case was a grainy black-and-white surveillance tape that captured the violent altercation. During closing arguments, Dist. Atty. Tony Rackauckas, who prosecuted the case, simply played the audio portion of the tape in which Thomas can be heard yelling for help.

While Rackauckas said the tape gave jurors a real-time sense of a homicide taking place, defense attorneys said the video showed that Thomas was the aggressor, fighting the officers so fiercely that they had to call for backup several times.

Defense attorneys said their clients should not be convicted for simply doing their jobs. Ramos' attorney, John Barnett, told reporters: "These peace officers were doing their jobs.... They did what they were trained to do."

It was a rare case for law-and-order Orange County, and the district attorney had staked his reputation on the outcome.>

I know there are some people that don't like it when you criticize a jury. I'm sorry. I don't care. Stupid jury. Shame on them. I hope they face harsh criticism for this. They deserve it.

don't see how anyone who saw it could vote not guilty.

this is why i think even in cases like trayvon martin those people would still have voted the same if they had video of zimmerman being at fault. the defense gets the jury they want. they play to their prejudice and fears.

I hope this case is getting a lot of publicity so they can get the shaming they deserve and more.

She's going to serve 25-30.

I heard the evidence. I voted to convict. I think she should get more.

4. Are police taught in academy to place blows to the face and head?

in subduing and cuffing a suspect that is on the ground?

serious question

There other parts of the body that cause pain when stuck but are less life threatening

The defense attorney said in the article you can't convict these men for doing what they were trained to do.

I find it hard to believe they are trained to strike in the face and head
on a suspect that is being held on the ground.

Maybe I'm wrong

8. I called it a horrific decision in an earlier thread but

now I have moved on to disgusting and terrifying. Are the police now given the authority to murder anyone for any reason?

This was a classic bullying case with multiple bullies piling on a weaker individual (and an ill one at that). Orange County should be ashamed. I sincerely hope the Feds look into this.

Hell even after you go limp and stop resisting, plan on being buried the next day. One of the biggest problems we face from law enforcement imo; their total lack of empathy or understanding. You resist, you die. Pretty much a guarantee if you come from the most vulnerable parts of society.
