VA congressional candidate - Spousal Rape Shouldn't Be a crime.

Seems sensitivity training is not working We can only hope this guy makes it to the election. It will make the seat an easy seat to win.

Note: can somebody corner Cantor and ask him what he thinks about the guy? I want to see him sweat about an answer that is not offensive to anybody.

GOP Congressional Candidate: Spousal Rape Shouldn't Be a Crime
Virginia state Sen. Dick Black fought to block a statue of Lincoln and invited a video crew to film him watching violent rape porn on a library computer. Now he's looking for a promotion

Could these republicans get any more draconian? These kind of ideas were probably passed up by a B grade movie director as too preposterous.

2. From the article:

As a state legislator, Black opposed making spousal rape a crime, citing the impossibility of convicting a husband accused of raping his wife "when they're living together, sleeping in the same bed, she's in a nightie, and so forth."

So this person, who is in the Virginia state senate and is running for Congress, thinks that a woman loses the right to refuse sex when she decides to put on a nightie.

And yet, this thread is sinking. Who cares about threats to women's rights as human beings, eh? Especially when there are much more important issues to discuss, such as the theoretical and hypothetical threat against men posed by some random misandrist blogger online who isn't even in government, let alone running for Congress.

He spoke frequently to media outlets about sexual assault in the military, and called military rape "as predictable as human nature." "Think of yourself at 25," Black told a newspaper in 1996. "Wouldn't you love to have a group of 19-year-old girls under your control, day in, day out?"

They key word in that quote is "control." Rape is all about control. Yes, we have demons walking among us.

As a former Army nurse, I hope never run into this guy. I heard of a military surgeon that got away with raping young nurses, techs and patients and retired without ever facing any repercussions in the mid 1980's. He and this guy would have had a merry time talking about it all over drinks at a club somewhere.

to describe my feelings.

His comments are insane! No means no, means no, means no!
This is meant for men, women, all.

I taught my daughter this mantra. I taught my sons, men can get raped also.
My daughter understood. My sons, giggled "men can't get raped", I metaphorically, slapped them down and repeated, "no means no". Later in life, they finally got it.

Sex is beautiful, it is the expression of love between two people.
When that love is not there, it is the expression of lust. That is all right as long as both consent.
My oldest, my first born son, was a victim of rape. He understands now.

The woman wanted a child and seduced him at a young age, 18, she 28, nothing took. Thank the powers that watch over us. She took his virginity. He was shamed. We had and still have a deep relationship, we were able to discuss the event.

It is all about power and control.

My wife and I taught our children to respect all, not only humans but all of nature.

Mankind is a blight on this planet.
Only through understanding, love, respect, will we be able to live in harmony with this world and the many we hope to discover.

I can only wish, hope, crave, that we realize this in time to make peace with our existence.

My sister suffered so much spousal abuse. She almost lost her mind.
This needs to be at the highest visibility DU can afford.

To witness it personally is one thing, to have it ok'ed by a "leader" is unacceptable. Trash that man.
