Couple describes past run-in with Reeves at same movie theater

Couple describes past run-in with Reeves at same movie theater

Jamira and Michael Dixson, a Pasco County couple, claims in late December, they encountered Reeves at the same movie theater and had an eerily similar experience.

Jamira was texting on her phone as the movie started when she said a man sitting near her became enraged.

"He made it very apparent that he wanted me and my husband to know that he complained because he sat there and he talked to the staff and pointed and was irate and irritated about the situation,” she said.

--snip--

Jamira said Reeves seemed irritated during the entire movie, complaining about another person texting and kids kicking his seat. Her husband said he thought about confronting Reeves.

"During the movie she (Reeve’s wife) got a phone call and we looked over and we're like "you're telling us and everybody else to put the phones away but your wife's getting a phone call and it's ringing loud,” said Michael.

The Dixsons say even after the movie ended, they still felt uncomfortable.

"As I’m outside his wife goes to arm in arm with him and walk out. He is still so irritated that he goes like this to her (swinging motion) and storms out of the theatre,” he said.

1. How does the NRA explain this one? Really there are people with guns who do not know how to control

Their emotions. They do not need guns, he apparently is a bully.

Except when they are promoting Teflon-coated bullets, of course.

and certain DUers have explained to me that on an etiquette scale of 1-10, texting in a movie theater ranks around 1,839 and that Reeves courageously did everyone a public service by ending this boorish lout's life...

Besides, who *hasn't* had deep-seated fantasies about simply being able to shoot people without consequence in the name of enforcing standards of polite behavior?

(I mean seriously -- There are DUers actually trying to justify/mitigate this with a straight face, telling me this is all the decedent's fault)

I am not questioning the couple's story. I am not questioning their credibility.

I am not trying to downplay the story.

I am not commenting for or against guns. I am not wanting to get in to that debate.

I'm just shaking my head thinking "what?" when I read this part:

Jamira said she was driving when she saw news reports about Monday's shooting. She said she recognized Reeves immediately and claims it's the same man.

"I had to pull over the car because (long pause) it could have been us,” she said.

do people watch tv while they are driving? That seems worse than texting while driving to me. I've seen people reading while they are driving and it freaks me out.

ETA or maybe she saw it on a sign or poster or something as she drove passed?

I've seen people reading newspapers, books, and magazines; shaving, watching TV, putting on makeup, and having sec while they drove.

Scary shit.

Should probably be a few instances of "sic" in there, but otherwise what is a writer to do?

Texting, children kicking seats, receiving phone calls, arguing, throwing popcorn, and pulling out a gun and killing someone.

Sounds family friendly to me

The shooter deserves to spend the rest of his life in jail, but the victim was also unhinged. He apparently started up the argument again when the man came back and then threw popcorn at him. His wife received a bullet through the hand - was she possibly trying to restrain him?
