ok, I'm trying to buy something from a wishlist on Amazon

The items are in my shopping cart and I want to finish ordering, pay, ship it and move on with my life.

Off to the right, I see an option to continue shopping, but I don't want to continue shopping.

Front and center I see an option to get an Amazon visa card, but I don't want an Amazon visa card.

Below that I see my shopping cart list, which has everything I want in it.

And below that is stuff that other people bought who also bought what I am, thus far, unable to effing buy.

WHERE THE FUCK IS THE CHECKOUT?!?! How the fuck does anybody ever actually buy anything from Amazon? Or do people just "window shop" all day and never actually buy anything?!?!

that is the one thing this shopping cart screen seems to lack!

I tried going to help. It didn't help.

This is really bizarre!

They are bandages needed for Elsa, the filly who was found starving and frozen to the ground. Good thing I'm really determined to get Elsa her bandages....I'm on a mission now!

4. Cluttered interface, everything vying for your attention at the same time. Poor design.

For shits and giggles, I tried entering "checkout" into the search field. It came up with a bunch of books about checking out or something. Above them was a link labeled, "proceed to checkout." Unfortunately I do not want to buy those books! I want to buy the gifts in my shopping cart. They are bandages for Elsa the rescued filly. Aaargh!!!!

one of those "save and compare" lists.

COULD NOT FIND A BUTTON OR ANYTHING TO BRING UP SAID LIST!!!

As I neared the edge of the frustration cliff it mysteriously appeared as a tiny overlay at the bottom left corner of the screen.

Just in time.

Good luck!

13. approximately where on the shopping cart page

can I find something about proceeding to checkout? Here is what I see:

On the top row, along with with amazon logo is my amazon.com, today's deals, other stuff, and selling.

2nd row is shop by dept, search, my account, try prime, 2 items in my cart, wish list.

3rd row is the amazon visa card I don't want, and the top of the inset showing my current orders and continue shopping.

Next row(s) down are the items in my shopping cart.

Next (rows) are the things others have bought who also bought my items.

Next row is my recently viewed items, featured recommendations, browsing history

Next row is continue shopping, recommended items for you (books apparently influenced by books I bought a couple years ago)

And then the bottom "get to know us" "make money with us" etc.

No checkout. None. Anywhere.

after spending some time going back and forth from here to there, searching, changing the page, etc. I hit refresh and got a message that the items were no longer available. So I left completely and returned and the wishlist was empty. So apparently somebody else purchased them for Elsa before I was able to finish it.

Maybe that's how it got stuck in limbo?

A friend called me last night with this same question. I told her I don't shop Amazon much but would get online and see if I could help but I couldn't find it either. She gave up.

it was the last item on their wishlist and they needed 2 of them. While I was trying to find checkout, somebody else successfully bought the items. So their wishlist is empty for the moment. Which is a good thing. I'll just keep an eye on it and try again when they have items they need. Her needs will be ongoing for quite some time....

Sometimes checkout options are easy to miss because they put the button way down at the bottom.
