They aren't all cop wannabees give um a badge and they go all Barney Fife.
I'm still in Atlanta with my sister. Tonight I ended up having to drive in one of the poorest parts ....also most dangerous.... after dark. Stopped to let a a man and lady cross a busy street. She was obviously getting off work late and he got her safely to her car.
It is cold by Atlanta standards and the lady was either dog tired or had mobility issues. She was moving painfully slow. He didn't rush her at all. I got stuck at the light and saw him wait patiently while she got backed out and out in the road.
While he was waiting he looked at me and lifted his chin....thanks for stopping to let them cross. It was nothing.
The thing is this guy gets a paycheck. Probably a pretty small one. But in that neighborhood it's real. He sticks his life out there to make sure a person gets home.
So maybe tomorrow I call that business and whoever is his boss. Say nice stuff in their ear. Next time a rentacop is around I might just shake a hand and thank them for coming to work.
Everyone deserves appreciation for what they do.
