Occupy may be down, but not out!

Things are rough, no question. But Occupy is not down for the count. Here are some examples!

TUCSON- As many of us crank up our heaters this week, there are some Tucsonans sleeping outside on cold sidewalks.

"It's unbearable," says Gregory Williams.

Williams is one of a couple dozen homeless people who sleep on the sidewalk near Veinte de Agosto Park downtown. The area is dubbed a "Safe Park", a place where the homeless can set up camp, without breaking the law.

Since they started sleeping there in October, they have been dreading the winter months.

"We've been teaching them about layering up and sleeping on cardboard instead of the ground, so they aren't freezing that way," says Jon McLane, a homeless man, who helped lead the Occupy Tucson movement.

The Occupy Movement is also having Demonstrations @ the park at Speedway and Stone at 4pm weather permits on most days

NOTE: That Park is now a "Safe Park" for homeless to sleep at night! It was not just homeless that was down there fighting for this. There was Teachers and a couple of Layers too!

Occupy Madison To Permanently Occupy For Homeless. Right Wingers Not Happy.
You can always count on Right Wingers to become enraged when anyone tries to do something for the less fortunate. There's just something in the psyche of the far right that makes it impossible for them to have any empathy for their fellow human beings.

I'm not sure if anyone has been following Occupy Madison over the past year or so but Brenda Konkel, a former Madison Council Woman and OWS member has been working hard trying to provide shelter for the Homeless.

Many homeless people joined Occupy encampments across the country and when the crackdown broke up their encampments and State Officials provided nothing for them, OWS did not desert them.

The list goes on!
