Boehner Says 'It's Time To Move On' From Christie's Scandal
House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) on Thursday said that lawmakers and the media should move past the controversy surrounding New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) and the lane closures on the George Washington Bridge last year, noting that the governor has "held people accountable."
"It's time to move on," he said during a Thursday press conference. "I think the governor made clear that mistakes were made."
Boehner would not address whether Christie should campaign for House Republicans now that the state legislature is investigating potential political motives behind the lane closures.

(295,905 posts)campaigning for Rick Scott tomorrow but apparently not on the same stage and it will be behind closed doors. Wouldn't want people to trash him because he left his troubled state to campaign for some criminal asshole in Florida who wants 4 more to screw the people who reside there.
Btw, when he was talking about only being in NJ the rest of his life.. I think someone told him to say that just like all the bullshit he was feeding his public at the neverending presser.
Lay low and see what happens. Thinking if he rides this out he can always bullshit his way out of this like he has everything else.

(4,106 posts)of these people and their impotence in our government. They have become the most dangerous entity to the country. No accountability whatsoever and yet they castigate the working class as lazy leeches. The "pot" has no credibility to say anything about the kettle. How long must we suffer these fools? They are users and abusers of our democracy and it's past time to call them out.
"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations; pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

(38,359 posts)Certain media outlets...will move on..
Much less reporting on this, and back to Bengahzi..or debt limit or anything else...Boehner is not talking to us, or Rachel, or honest
political reporters He is talking to the entire media as a signal, to tell them to lower it slowly so the flock can forget it. McCain gave the same signal. We will not lower it. But sites and outlets like NBC, Yahoo News, ABC, and the so called Main Stream Media, will gradually lower the volume, and they will accept "The Bully's" story as somewhat true..and move on. The whole thing is being controlled by media brains in the right wing camp. We will not move on, but I would not be surprised, if most of the media does indeed move on. Less and less..I hope I am wrong..but???

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christies (R) bridge scandal grows more interesting every day, as new evidence emerges, new questions arise, and new developments unfold. We dont yet know why the Christie administration engaged in this corruption, who else was involved, who might yet turn on whom, and when the next shoe might drop.
And with all this intrigue surrounding one of the GOPs highest-profile figures, the nations highest-ranking Republican official made the funniest comment of his professional career.
House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) on Thursday said that lawmakers and the media should move past the controversy surrounding New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) and the lane closures on the George Washington Bridge last year, noting that the governor has held people accountable.
Its time to move on, he said during a Thursday press conference. I think the governor made clear that mistakes were made.
Um, no. Actually, its not time to move on. Ordinarily, its time to move on when all of the relevant questions have been answered, not when all of the relevant questions remain unanswered.
<...>
As for developments in the Garden State today, quite a bit has happened over the last few hours:
* 20 new subpoenas are going out.
* The Senate Transportation Committee received information from the Port Authority, and found no evidence to support the traffic study excuse still being touted by Christie last week.
* The state Assembly has begun its new legislative session by creating a special investigatory committee to oversee the probe into the scandal. As Rachel noted on the show last night, it will led in part by former federal prosecutor Reid Schar, who helped convict former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D).
* The state Senate is also moving forward with its own investigation.
* The Christie administration has lawyered up.
* Bridget Kelly has lawyered up.
Im at a bit of a loss as to how any fair-minded person could look at these developments, realize there are so many unresolved elements of this scandal, and conclude, Its time to move on.

They think it's like football, if you get another play off before the official can call a foul, they can't be penalized for it.
