Millionaire NYT Columnist David Brooks: Poor PeopleWon’t Be Poor If They Just Act Like Rich People

From Wonkette

http://wonkette.com/539561

Good news, Poors! David Brooks has decided to take on the topic of income inequality, and has concluded that 1) income inequality is not actually a problem, and 2) if it were, we shouldn’t solve it by giving poor people more money, and also 3) the growing income of the 1% has nothing to do with the shrinking incomes of the rest of us. Hear that? NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.

Here, let the man with the 4 million dollar home explain to us why giving money to poor people will be of absolutely no help to them.

more at link.

They're not even trying to hide their idiocy any more.

I have fucked up brain chemistry. Stimulants like coke and meth do nothing. I'm sort of thankful for that because I've seen what those drugs can do and have done to friends of mine.

If the poor people had 1% interest rate on their credit cards
If the poor people had their companies pick up 100% of their health insurance
If the poor people could deduct all their expenses
If the poor people got 1% bank loans

They would be in pretty good shape and probably not poor any more

Instead poor people get 29% interest rate on their credit cards
Instead companies pick up 0% of their health insurance by keeping them working below the threshold where they're required to provide health insurance
Instead poor people can't deduct all their expenses, only rich employers get to do that
Instead poor people don't often qualify for bank loans

Followed by a maximum assets law.

A government has every reason to make sure that no individual's wealth becomes great enough to influence the state. It has become a national security problem, and should be addressed that way.

Of course that includes the corporate citizens too, which are even more of a threat.

File in: Stuff Rich Assholes Say to Protect Their Own Interests

When you are POOR it is the PRIMARY ISSUE. When you cannot feed your family, pay your rent, pay for car repair, save for emergencies, afford health insurance (or use it if you have it), BEING POOR IS THE PRIMARY ISSUE. Not being able to pay your heating bill in a Michigan winter is not a 'statistical byproduct', it is a fucking crisis. Only the privileged can even pretend otherwise.

Propaganda-spewing asshole.

Yes, corporations lowering labor costs to increase executive pay, dividends and stock price have absolutely nothing to do with the incomes of the working class.
