at least international pressure from LGBT people caused him to fear the repercussions of allowing that backward and regressive pogrom law to go forward.
Again, the stuff he said was horrific. It was not he who stopped the law, it was we the people of the planet.

The level of rhetoric the world is accepting from various clergy and politicians is getting out of hand. The United States has troops on the ground assisting this nation, which should not be the case.
