State Sen. Mike Doherty (R-23) this morning said Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno needs to come clean on the allegation leveled by Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer.
Zimmer said Guadagno, now the acting governor as Gov. Chris Christie fundraises in Florida, told her last year in a parking lot that Hurricane Sandy aid for Hoboken hinged on local approval for the Rockefeller Development project in Hoboken.
Governors Office Spokesman Mike Drewniak issued a statement to MSNBC, put up onscreen during Steve Kornackis segment with Zimmer.
What or who is asking her to say such outlandish things is anyones guess, Drewniak said.

(135,425 posts)My impression of Zimmer is that she's telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
The fact that a republican state senator is questioning the LGOV's integrity--using strong language, too-- suggests that my assessment isn't off the mark.
I think Lieutenant Governor Guadagno needs to say this is untrue, Doherty added. Ive always found her to be trustworthy. Its appropriate for her to comment. The lieutenant governor cannot allow this to go unchallenged.

(32,606 posts)However, I think she is somewhat frightened. Apparently MSNBC (Alex Witt) had on some Democrats that said she was not being truthful.

I didn't see the segment but this sounds like bs.
Also, from the beginning I thought the mayor of Ft. Lee has not been forthcoming on his situation and I believe it is out of fear.

(50,165 posts)credibility, not less, imo. If her allegation was political the time to raise this would have been before the election not after. This has arisen now because the speculation Hoboken didn't receive Sandy monies because the Mayor didn't endorse Christie was wrong and when the Mayor was asked about it, she told the truth. It wasn't the lack of endorsement, it was about land development, the improper behavior of Christie, his officials, Sampson and his law firm.
Just as the Mayor of Hoboken held to her principles in refusing to be bullied re the development, she also held to her principles as to telling the truth when asked, imo.

(50,165 posts)on Steve's show this morning. Far from responding with braggadocio, she was the opposite, very tense knowing the blowback she was going to get for telling the truth. She didn't go to the media with this, the media, possibly Steve himself, went to her with questions, questions she answered truthfully. She was very credible, imo, and as far from being political as one could be.
