Why would Mayor Zimmer lie?

It doesn't make sense that she would go home and write down a false account of conversations she had with Christie officials. But, the push back against her is very predictable. She knew she would be attacked for speaking out.

The mayor of Sea Bright got a similar talk. She endorsed Christie and the aid has been lining up to get into that tiny shore town. Not that they don't need it.

The only way she could protect herself from swift and terrible retribution is if she armed herself with the truth. And all the pro-Christie tweets her detractors are using as evidence of her lying? If compensation for her city was incumbent upon Christie's goodwill, what good would doing otherwise do her constituents?

Don't look for any hard evidence against Christie though--he was a prosecutor and as such I am sure he acquainted himself with the mechanics of "How Not To Get Caught". I am sure, unless someone was wearing a wire, there isn't one iota of incriminating evidence against him.

The swamp will be drained.

I was just trying to figure out if the FBI has enough equipment to tap all the phones in NJ that need to be tapped.

It doesn't matter how much evidence there is to the contrary, they'll just go on believing. Think about the beatification of Reagan and Bush II.

about $14 million in Sandy relief money since the storm. That was principally from FEMA. That is a statistic you are sure to hear in the coming days. The real story is the share of the HUD CDBG money that makes up the bulk of the assistance provided to NJ. Very little (approx.$46,000) has gone to Hoboken thus far. There are several reasons for that. The state has almost total control of the $1.4 billion in this pot. A good deal of this should have been distributed by now. A good deal of it should not because it needs to be spent correctly (not building buildings or infrastructure in places where it will only be flooded again by the next storm). There certainly should have been more CDBG money obligated to Hoboken by now and you can bet if it would have benefited Rockefeller & Wolff & Samson it would have been by now.
