For Christie and MSNBC, a Messy Divorce Plays Out in Public View
It was a match made in moderately minded Northeast Corridor heaven.
Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey needed a TV network that would burnish his bipartisan bona fides and showcase his gleefully contrarian style. MSNBC craved a Republican who cut against the party grain and lit up the screen with his everyman-ish, Springsteen-loving spontaneity.
An on-air romance blossomed, forged over chummy strolls along the Jersey Shore and heart-to-hearts in the studio about everything from overeating to education, embodying the aisle-crossing aspirations of this partisan era.

Off camera, the governor developed close ties to anchors like Ms. Brzezinski, even showing up at her book signing not long ago. Immediately after Mr. Christie concluded his apologetic news conference about the controversy last week, he spent 15 minutes on the phone with Ms. Brzezinski as he prepared to face Fort Lee, the small community crippled by gridlock from the lane closures, she said.
On Sunday, Ms. Brzezinski still spoke fondly of Mr. Christie and his wife, Mary Pat, whom I have the biggest admiration for, she said.

(296,893 posts)"Over the weekend, Mr. Christie, who has appeared on MSNBC many times since taking office, angrily denounced it as a partisan network that is almost gleeful in their efforts attacking him. Christie aides have called it a feeding frenzy."
Almost gleeful? Look at what you've done, genius.. you created this Culture of Bully and you're either the most incompetent buffoon on the Planet or the nearly the Vile. Take your pick, gov crispy.
And, we don't need any fucking lectures from Colin Reid of this Missive to Mayor Steven Fulop of Jersey City..
This is what Colin Reid(Crispy spokesman) had to say to Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop about the "yanking of access".. I saw it on Rachel's show, paused it, and copied it down. It's disgusting..
"Mayor Fulop's words and actions must be viewed through the lens of partisan politics and his attempt to advance his own political agenda."
Can you imagine Mayor Fulop's reaction to that? Shit like this is precisely why Revenge for the Culture of Bully's ACTIONS is going to be so SWEET.
"Mr. Christie, who is known to be sensitive to slights, appears to be genuinely stung by the networks coverage." a river Just like a bully.. now he's the victim
