So much for cooperation with the investigation.
Gov. Chris Christie and the Democratic Legislature appeared headed toward a constitutional showdown over the Bridgegate scandal yesterday, as Christie weighed his legal options and Republicans questioned the partisanship of an Assembly committee that issued 20 subpoenas to targets that included some of the highest-ranking members of Christies inner circle.

(2,419 posts)they put Betty Lou DeCroce on the committee. The widow of Christie's self-described "political mentor" Alex DeCroce who died two years ago only to have his political hack wife replace him. Alex & Betty Lou were/are in the pockets of developers and partisans of the highest order. I once had someone who came to Morris County to do business and met with DeCroce tell me "I thought I was coming to bucolic Morris County, instead this is just Hudson County with hills and trees".

(1,896 posts)you know things are going to start getting interesting. For entertainment purposes, the investigation may go quiet for a while but if the results are the right ones, I will do without my favorite political drama for a while. I'll watch something on Netflix to fill the void.
Christies press statement pointedly left out any specific commitment to cooperate with the special investigative committees that were formed by the Assembly and Senate yesterday. The statement used the same appropriate inquiries disclaimer that Christie used in his State of the State speech Tuesday, which aroused Democratic suspicions that the governor might be planning to stonewall the legislative committees.
