North Carolina's Congressional delegation has become just a bit more unfair

In 2012, NC Democrats got more votes for Congress than did NC Republicans. It was about a 49 to 48 split with about 3 for the Libertarians. So what division of the 13 seats resulted from this vote? GOP 9, Dem 4. But for literally the closest race in the country it would have been a 10 to 3 division. So how did it just get worse? Well Mel Watt, who was the 12th district representative got approved to head the FHA meaning he has to be replaced. Sounds simple, right? Well, not exactly. The election to replace him won't take place until November, meaning that district, which is 80 percent Democratic, will not have a representative at all for 11 months. Our division is now 9 to 3 in favor of the GOP. So we got 51 percent of the two party vote, but one third of the seats.
