The ONE reason I go there instead of the Burger King next door...
Hot Mustard
Just grabbed some McCrap for lunch and I always get hot mustard to dip the fries in. The dude at the window said they don't have it anymore! WTF!
Some kind of conspiracy!
McDonalds Hot Mustard Is Being Discontinued

Save McDonalds Hot Mustard!
But first lets go back to where my conspiracy theory about my perceived end of Hot Mustards Chicken McNugget reign began. Late last year McDonalds introduced a bunch of new dipping sauces for their McNuggets. Im usually suspicious when any restaurant introduces a new line or revamps anything. I think its the old magicians trick of redirection, watch over here while I do this over there.

After discussing this with other folks who openly admit they eat them and are not closet fast food fans I came to a conclusion. Something is definitely up with the Hot Mustard. So I emailed and asked McDonalds public relations company and was told its still part of the sauce line-up. That doesnt make sense, why isnt the sauce listed on the inside of the box then?
And lets be honest, I didnt for one second think they would just answer its on the outs. Something like that is done much more smoothly. And if it is about to become obsolete, should I stock up? Or
Will I be forced to make this copycat recipe to fill the sauce void left in my life?

(20,043 posts)with my fries. Don't go there much but when I do I like the hot mustard for dipping fries. The buffalo sauce is ok to use too, but I like the hot mustard better.
Burger King has a spicy dipping sauce for their onion rings. I like it too.

(9,258 posts)Every time I really like a product (food, toothpaste, etc) "they" stop making it. McD's has a great new item on the dollar menu, Grilled Onion Cheddar Burger, really tasty and $1! I'm waiting for the shoe to drop.

(30,151 posts)I'm going to have to find an underground hot mustard market before it is all gone-
I think the shelf life is like 408 years anyway

(15,178 posts)Even if all the other ingredients were all-natural, organic, GMO-free and blessed by the Dalai Lama, you shouldn't expect mustard seed to be at the top of the list in order for it to be "real" mustard.

(31,464 posts)But I also wouldn't expect HFCS to be the second ingredient. I can't eat that stuff anyway...gives me mustard gas! Talk about "silent but deadly!"

(15,178 posts)...and it's been many months since I've darkened the door of a McDonald's, maybe a year or two since my last McNugget... I use so little of the various dipping sauces at one sitting that I can't get too worried about their health effect on me, or even much momentary gastric distress.
Then again, I go lighter on all sorts of sauces and dressing that many people I know. I dip lightly, rather than using the aggressive scooping motion I see a lot of other people use, where so much sauce is picked up that they have to rush the food to their mouths before the sauce falls off.
Without some sauce, however, you'd be in danger of noticing that the nuggets themselves barely have any flavor of their own.
