How to win the vote in 2014. Tell youth the GOP wants to abolish minimum wage.

Last edited Wed Jan 22, 2014, 05:09 AM - Edit history (2)

Mid-term elections have trouble getting the youth vote out. Here's how to solve that. I told an 18 yr old retail sales girl, whose boyfriend is a RW radio-listening gun-nut, that most Republicans want to get rid of the minimum wage and your wage would probably go down. She got very upset and said, "Well, Republicans are retarded!! (sorry, her words not mine).
I doubt she'll be voting Republican the rest of her life. I told her -'well be sure to vote in 2014.'

I then showed her some of these.

She said she could go off food stamps if she did.

As I was leaving I said vote democratic. She grinned and nodded yes.

Why, it's the aforementioned social programs, that's who.

Who is it that makes sure you have clean water?

If we can't reach the youth with the truth, then they'll get foxed out. If it takes us shouting louder, then so be it, lets do it.

Did you know almost every republican voted to invade Iraq and spend 2 trillion of your tax dollars on that war?

Those I tell to not vote, it's all lies anyway.

The ones you see working hard and trying to do a good job, are the ones worth talking too.

Really tho, it matters little. The youth if they do vote are inspired by the Obama's, and so they'll cast. We dems out number the republicans so our efforts need to be on the independents who do vote, because they swing elections.

Is what I've heard. I'm afraid the GOP is likely to make gains again this mid-term.

It is the independents who swing elections. The ones that vote.

Most of the youth, like you say, don't care and so, don't vote.

However, a smart phone campaign is how you can reach the youth. But is it worth the try?

Most active voters are the older set. They felt let down by Obama in 2010 and the bad economy and listened to Fox tell them how the republicans were going to get jobs back. Which was a lie, but believed by so many.
