Steve Stockman Photoshops His Opponent Into Obama Photo

Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas), attempting to portray his Senate opponent as too liberal, has put up a new website arguing that Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) loves Obamacare. The site even features a damning photo of Cornyn looking friendly with the president.

The image, however, isn't real. It's been photoshopped.

The odd-looking image was first noticed Tuesday by Politico reporter Burgess Everett:

About 5 years ago we had an incident happen in my little county that made national news. A candidate for congress Photoshopped his head onto the body of his slimmer and better-built opponent and sent it out in a brochure. He, of course, got caught and still can’t show his face without people saying, “Hey, your face looks familiar!”

Since it made national news, you’d think people wouldn’t do that stuff.

Ahhhhh … but does Steve Stockman qualify as “people”?



Stockman is trying to make his opponent, Senator John Cornyn, look like Barack Obama’s best buddy. Not being able to find photographic evidence of that, he just clumsily pasted Corny’s head over the head of Charlie Crist.

A reporter at Politico first found it and it’s been nothing but fun since then.

I am supporting Maxey Scheer but David Alameel has promised to spend $20 million of his own money if he is the nominee and Wendy has endorsed Alameel. There is also a decent guy named Fjetland who is the race who is from my area of the state. Again, Wendy is endorsing Alameel. Alameel may be able to keep up with Cornyn on the spending front

We need to make sure that Kesha is kept off the ballot and that she does not make the runoff.

7. Good to hear someone has money in that race. That's going to be the toughest thing for the

2014 elections. Well that and voter registration. I'm excited now that I know Stockman and Corynan are pitted against each other and a strong Democrat can meet them at the general election and take the winner out.

8. Sadly, Stockman seems to be falling apart

Cornyn's superpac has been out with some effective attack ads on Stockman and Stockman has not done any TV advertising to my knowledge
