Christie Campaign Hires Power Lawyers From Patton Boggs To Deal With Scandal

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's (R) re-election campaign has hired Patton Boggs, the prominent Washington, D.C.-based law firm, to represent it in the ongoing investigation of the George Washington Bridge lane closures.

The Newark Star-Ledger reported Thursday that the individual lawyers who will represent the campaign are Bob Luskin and Mark Sheridan. Sheridan also serves as general counsel to the New Jersey Republican State Committee, and served on Christie's transition team.

Patton Boggs will also represent Nicole Davidman Drewniak, a Christie campaign fundraiser who has also been subpoenaed by state lawmakers investigating the closures, according to the Star-Ledger.

Luskin is well known for, among other things, representing Republican strategist Karl Rove during the investigation into the leaked identity of CIA officer Valerie Plame.
