Let us take a moment of joy, memories of COLBERT & MAHER eviscerating Dinesh D'SOUZA
So many directions to go with this, where to start. Well, 1st let’s go with a moment of all out joyous release. 2nd direction, wow, indicted/investigated by both U.S. Attorney AND the FBI: If I learned anything from The Wolf of Wall Street, it’s that this double whammy is what puts the fear of Zeus into scoundrels and really the FBI part smarting the more.
3rd direction, the first video is COLBERT absolutely eviscerating D’SOUZA to the point of COLBERT almost breaking out of his comedic character. The other is Bill MAHER confronting him about MAHER’s having been cancelled because of D’SOUZA, with MAHER showing the only vulnerability ever.
4th direction, oh look, the indictment is about campaign donor violations, because we know that wingnuts are SO concerned over the integrity of the elections system and fraud at the bottom of the elections pyramid that accounts for ONE criminal case out of THIRTEEN MILLION votes, while the HUMONGOUS BUCKS of the wingnuts’ corruption at the top is seldom faulted.

On Real Time, Maher read a portion of the episode's transcript, which showed his controversial comments came after D’Souza first called the 9/11 hijackers brave.

Earlier in the interview, Maher slammed Obama’s America for its assertion that President Obama’s agenda was shaped by Barack Obama Sr., even though the Commander in Chief met his father just once.
But D’Souza offered as evidence the title of Obama’s book, Dreams From My Father.
“Not Dreams of My Father,” D’Souza said.“Not about his father’s dreams. Dreams From My Father means ‘here are the dreams, I, Obama, got from my dad.”
Maher didn’t buy it.

[FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: yellow"]GOP hero[/FONT] and Obama’s America director Dinesh [FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: yellow"]D’Souza—remember him?—has embarrassed his party once again.[/FONT]
Today the [FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: yellow"]U.S. Attorney[/FONT] for the Southern District of New York [FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: yellow"]and the FBI jointly indicted D’Souza[/FONT] for illegally funneling money to a conservative Senatorial candidate in 2012 and, later, lying to the Federal Election Commission about it. He faces up to 7 years in prison.
U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, who announced the indictment in a Manhattan federal court on Thursday afternoon, alleges that D’Souza arranged for an unspecified number of individuals to donate to a political campaign under their own names on the condition that D’Souza would reimburse them in full. D’Souza apparently concocted the plot to skirt federal campaign finance laws that limit the amount of money a single individual can donate to a candidate.
While Bharara doesn’t name the candidate to whom D’Souza directed the money, Reuters identified her as Wendy Long, a Republican lawyer who in 2012 ran unsuccessfully against Kirsten Gillibrand, a Democrat and the junior U.S. Senator of New York State.
D’Souza is scheduled to be arraigned in Manhattan on Friday. He is also scheduled to debate former Weatherman Bill Ayers on January 30 at Dartmouth College about what makes America so great.

And INGRAHAM converted to Catholicism back in the day when converting was all the rage in wingnut Spook circles, Opus Dei, Robert NOVAKula, but it has been a permanent fascination to me how NO trace of spirituality has been in evidence, NO change away from her vile mouth.
