A GALE WARNING MEANS WINDS OF 34 TO 47 KNOTS ARE IMMINENT OR

RECOMMENDED THAT MARINERS WITHOUT THE PROPER EXPERIENCE SEEK SAFE

A HEAVY FREEZING SPRAY WARNING MEANS HEAVY FREEZING SPRAY IS
EXPECTED TO RAPIDLY ACCUMULATE ON VESSELS. THESE CONDITIONS CAN
BE EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS TO NAVIGATION. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT
MARINERS NOT TRAINED TO OPERATE IN THESE CONDITIONS OR VESSELS
NOT PROPERLY EQUIPPED TO DO SO...REMAIN IN PORT OR AVOID THE
WARING AREA.
-----------------
Conditions are rapidly deteriorating again here in SW lower Michigan. We're under a Winter Storm Warning until 7 am tomorrow. It's been a really crappy winter so far and it doesn't look like it's going to moderate any time soon. I'm sending my student worker home within the hour because she's got a 15 mile drive west towards Lake Michigan and it's clouding up here in Grand Rapids & the winds are gusting past 40 mph. Once it starts snowing, you won't be able to see 5 feet in front of your face. Wind chills are between -10 & -25F. Brrrrr.

Everybody stay safe!

Freezing spray warnings are not uncommon. I've seen ocean front homes totally covered in ice spray from the ocean.
