Shooting reported at the Columbia Mall (Columbia, Maryland)

Here we go again...

The Howard County Fire Department is reporting an active shooter situation at the Mall in Columbia. Both the Howard County police and fire departments are on the scene. The fire department is advising people to avoid the area.

The Howard County Police have confirmed a shooting at the mall. But they could not confirm whether anyone had been injuried. Howard County Executive Ken Ulman said police would be holding a news conference at the scene shortly to provide more details.

Customers inside the mall are reporting that the mall is in lockdown and some customers have been directed toward the AMC Theater away from the scene of the shooting. Other customers reported hearing gunfire before fleeing the mall.

Fire dispatchers have started planning how to let customers exit the mall in groups. The dispatchers have also requested buses to evacate the customers.

We lived about a mile from this mall until about six months ago and our daughter spent a lot of time there over the last several years.

16. Yep, with a hard core "boot-camp" requirement that weeds the racists and other pricks out.

It wouldn't have to be physically hard, just a realistic test of how well a person gets along with others from very diverse backgrounds in stressful situations.

Wash out of training because you can't control your temper, can't get along with people who are not your gender, sexual orientation, color, religion, etc., can't shoot straight or handle a weapon safely? Sorry George, no gun for you and we'll throw you in jail if we catch you with one.
