Illinois Republican: gay people bring on tornadoes

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/01/23/1271963/-Illinois-Republican-says-God-makes-tornadoes-to-punish-gay-people?detail=email#

Candidate Susan Atanus is running for Congress. Apparently, she did not pay attention when they taught about meteorology in school.

From the article:

"I am a conservative Republican and I believe in God first," Atanus said. She said she believes God controls the weather and has put tornadoes and diseases such as autism and dementia on earth as punishment for gay rights and legalized abortions.

She's a known flake, not a party regular.

Not that the part regulars are any picnic of course.

“I don’t know why they are not standing behind me. They should talk to me personally. I will not back out of the race.”

“God is angry,” she told the Herald. “We are provoking him with abortions and same-sex marriage and civil unions. Same-sex activity is going to increase AIDS. If it’s in our military it will weaken our military. We need to respect God.”

Atanus is running against David Earl Williams III for the right to represent the GOP against incumbent Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL). However, Republican leaders at both the local and state level released a statement on Thursday disavowing her completely.

Bishop: Lawmakers 'morally complicit' in sins of same-sex couples

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/clout/chi-illinois-gay-marriage-law-draws-exorcism-in-springfield-20131120,0,2874258.story

A Catholic bishop offered prayers of exorcism Wednesday in response to Gov. Pat Quinn's approval of an Illinois gay marriage law, and he suggested politicians are "morally complicit" in assisting the sins of same-sex couples.

Bishop Thomas Paprocki spoke Latin to send the message, "Be gone, Satan, father of lies, enemy of human salvation. Give way to Christ."

The head of the Springfield Diocese delivered his remarks to a large crowd of worshippers in the cavernous Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception only blocks from the Capitol, where lawmakers approved the same-sex marriage legislation two weeks ago.

"I exorcise you, every unclean sprit, every power of darkness, every incursion of the infernal enemy, every diabolical legion, cohort and faction, in the name and power of our Lord Jesus Christ," Paprocki said during the hourlong ceremony 200 miles from the bill-signing celebration in Chicago..." There's even a video at the link above if you'd like to try this kind of thing at home. You never know if there might be some old lesbian couple (like me & my honey) living somewhere nearby! We might even want to watch, if you don't mind us laughing our asses off at you.

if you hear voices they say you're schizophrenic and you can be treated for psychological illness. If you say the voices are from God you can run for public office and get a built in constituency who will vote for you no matter what.

Will they have an anti-gay referendum on their voters ballot this year?

The Democrats in WV (including the Governor and both Senators) act like Republicans and all the Republicans act like Tea Partiers.

Our military is obviously showing it's anti-fundamentalist bias by NOT USING THIS SUPER-WEAPON RIGHT NOW!

I'll fund some research for this by myself if I have to, can even get some gays to volunteer for this project. Together we can make it RAIN hurricanes, tornadoes, and diseases on tyrannical regimes.
