When stations like A&E prefer to keep hate as part of their programming and TLC prefers to keep stupidity in theirs it's nice to see CBS celebrate love. I'm sure the powers-to-be at CBS were aware of the mass wedding that was going to happen at the Grammy's - a wedding that included 33 partners including several same-sex couples. I'm sure CBS also recognized that a wedding like that will probably cause a massive backlash from the the anti-marriage equality group which is mostly filled with people filled with hateful-vile that can't stand seeing anyone happy or anyone different from they are. Yet CBS opted to air the some "Same Love" performance along with Queen Latifah officiating the marriage of 33 couples.
I thought it was a great performance - probably one of the more memorable ones ever at the Grammy's. There was no twerking or butt grinding - just love and plenty of it. As the cameras scanned the audience you could see the crowds in total support (rumor has it Keith Urban was tearing up).

(12,409 posts)As I watched I could not help but think that our music, our poets, and the community of artists that make up this industry are the warriors on the front line battling every thing I find abhorrent. While negativity, hatred, and ignorance pervade our society we have our music to bring the light into the world and to remind us that Love, Peace, and Happiness is what this life is all about.
Long Live Rock and Roll!!

(9,457 posts)daughters. I can see how witnessing that love in others would get a little emotional. Here's a cute video of him and his wife Nicole covering the song "Land Down Under" as a tribute to actor Simon Baker (The Mentalist) at the G'Day Aussie celebration. That's the thing about heterosexual people who have real love in their lives, I think they wouldn't deny the feeling to anyone else. Just my opinion.
