Am watching Rachel on the left coast

Current topic is sexual "transgressions" of senior military officers. My own opinion is that these guys have had their own way over the last 2 years. Serious lack of oversight.....too much war and a don't challenge our judgement attitude...we're keeping the country safe.

Rumsfeld got charge of the Pentagon under Bush. Those who weren't in lockstep with Cheney's push to war were pushed into early retirement or other commands out of the way. I think this corrupted the leadership, myself, and it seems now the chickens are coming home to roost. Just MHO.

Rumsfeld got with the chiefs of staff and unveiled his plan for a "new military." I believe his phrase was "lighter and tighter." Basically a plan to outsource many military functions to contractors and third parties.

Of course the very next day hell breaks loose and that meeting vanishes down the media rabbit hole.
