I heard through my family tonight that a student (who attends the same high school that I graduated from just 4 years ago) was killed by her own mom, who it looks like was going through a bitter divorce or something and wanted to kill herself and her daughter....she ended up killing the daughter but somehow managed to stay alive herself and is in the hospital
I should be studying for an exam I have on Friday but I just can't stop thinking about that poor girl- someone who I didn't even know. News like this makes the world seem like such a cruel place.

And it's full of people who hate you and are mean to you, just because you are different." Tracey Ullman
This is from a skit where Tracey plays a girl with two gay dads. And she is working at a McDonalds type restaurant. She interacts with her co-workers a bit and then goes up to wait on her dads and she says "I want to quit".
One protests "But you just started."
She said "Well, I took this job to learn about the world, and I think I've learned enough."
"You've been here less than ten minutes, what could you have learned about the world?"
"I've learned it's cold. It's cruel. It's dirty. And it's full of people who hate you and are mean to you, just because you are different."
The dads look at each other and one says "Well, she learned quite a bit." and they get up and leave.
