In tonight’s State of the Union address he’ll defend Obamacare funding and propose new amnesty and gun control schemes.
And Senator John Cornyn is working behind the scenes to make sure Obama gets everything he wants!

JOHN CORNYN VOTED WITH DEMOCRATS TO FULLY FUND OBAMACARE
Cornyn voted twice in 2013 to fully fund Obamacare (Source: RCVs 44 & 206, 2013.)
On Sept. 27, 2013 Cornyn voted with Democrats to kill Cruz’s filibuster of Obamacare funding (RCV 206) after Democrat leader Harry Reid made it clear it meant fully funding Obamacare.
Cornyn’s vote to kill Cruz’s filibuster followed his Mar. 20, 2013 vote to fund Obamacare (RCV 44.)
Later in July Cornyn also publicly stripped his name from a letter from Republican senators pledging not to support Obamacare funding.
Cornyn told Texas Monthly this month he hoped Cruz had “learned a lesson” about offending Obama by threatening to withhold Obamacare funding.
“I hope we’ll be less confrontational” with Obama, Cornyn scolded.
Cornyn even took a parting shot at Cruz, telling Texas Monthly, “I think David Dewhurst has been a good public servant, and had he been elected, I don’t think there would have been much of a difference in the voting record.”
Cornyn also conspired to sabotage Ted Cruz’s filibuster (Source: Breitbart News, Sept. 23, 2013.)
Fox News’ Chris Wallace reveals that just before Cruz was scheduled to appear on Fox News Sunday he “got unsolicited research and questions not from Democrats, but from top Republicans, to hammer Cruz.”
He revealed that startling information less than 24 hours after conservative Breitbart News broke the stunning news “Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Minority Whip John Cornyn are using their leadership positions to pressure other Republicans to oppose Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in his campaign to defund Obamacare.”
Yes, John Cornyn asked reporters “to hammer Cruz” and stop Cruz’s efforts to defund Obamacare.
JOHN CORNYN IS PROPOSING THE BIGGEST EXPANSION OF GUN CONTROL IN YEARS
Cornyn and Lindsay Graham are proposing a new law to throw millions of law-abiding Americans onto a lifetime gun ban list (Source: Texas Monthly, Jan. 2014.)
Cornyn’s “Mental Health and Criminal Justice Reform Act” is almost identical to Obama’s anti-gun Executive Order and proposals offered by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg (Source: NAGR.org.)
The bill is almost identical to the one they sponsored last year, S.480, the "NICS Reporting Improvement Act."
Cornyn's bill gives any anti-gun activist on nearly any "board, commission, or other adjudicative body" the power to take away your gun rights.
Under Cornyn’s anti-gun scheme these so-called "authorities" can order you to report to a mental health counselor, at which point they have virtually unchallenged authority to place you an a lifetime gun ban list – with no due process of law whatsoever.
John Cornyn’s bill is opens a sickening new front in the Left’s War on Guns. If they can’t ban guns, they’ll ban you from owning them.
And Cornyn’s not done yet.
In an interview with liberal “Texas Monthly” published this month, Cornyn lashed out at open carry laws.
“I’m not sure what the point is about open carry...I’m not sure what the attraction is for that,” told Texas Monthly.
JOHN CORNYN SUPPORTS AMNESTY FOR ILLEGALS

On June 11, 2013 Cornyn voted with Democrats to kill a Republican filibuster of Reid’s amnesty plan after Reid assured him Democrats had the votes to pass it. (RCV 146)
After thwarting Republicans, Cornyn then voted with Democrats to proceed to a vote to pass the plan in the Senate (RCV 147.)
That’s when I offered the “blue slip” resolution in the House that automatically killed the Cornyn/Obama amnesty plan on constitutional grounds.
I killed the Obama amnesty scheme Cornyn voted twice to support.
Cornyn even voted with Democrats to kill a Republican amendment to end the “Z Visa” program (Vitter Amdt. No. 1157 to S1348 5/24/2007.)
Z visas are awarded to illegal aliens currently in the United States, allowing them to work and travel freely.
His vote helped Democrats continue the illegal alien amnesty program.
Cornyn also voted with Democrats to kill a Republican amendment to fund and complete the border fence (2006 RCV 200.)
His vote with Democrats helped kill 370 miles of double-layered fencing and at least 461 miles of vehicle barriers along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Even worse, Cornyn proposed his own amnesty plan to give illegals amnesty, a border pass and a Social Security number (Source: S.1348, 2005.)
Cornyn’s S.1348 "The Comprehensive Enforcement and Immigration Reform Act" would have given millions of illegal aliens five years of legal status for the applicants, their spouses and children, as well as a border crossing card, an employment authorization card and a Social Security Number.

Cornyn is publicly supporting efforts by congressional leaders (which I oppose) to enact a “pathway to citizenship” for illegals.
And once Cornyn’s illegals become citizens they’ll start voting – for Democrats.
Cornyn thinks illegals will love us for it.
“We can't win in 2016 without resolving it,” Cornyn told National Journal just days ago.

(1,905 posts)I usually get an email from his office about once a week. He hasn't done that also. The only thing going for Stockman is that he's goofier than Cruz and Loopy Louie Gohmert.

(42,770 posts)The always outspoken Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) walked out midway through President Obama's State of the Union address on Tuesday, the Dallas Morning News reported.
"Tonight I left early after hearing how the President is further abusing his Constitutional powers," Stockman told the Dallas Morning News in a statement. "I could not bear to watch as he continued to cross the clearly-defined boundaries of the Constitutional separation of powers." Needless to say, I am deeply disappointed in the tone and content of tonight’s address."
Stockman has made no secret of his problems with the president, but he does seem to enjoy the media spectacle of the State of the Union. Last year, he invited rocker and Obama critic Ted Nugent to the speech; this year, he invited Chad Henderson, a student who embarrassed the media by telling reporters he had enrolled in Obamacare when he, in fact, had not.
Stockman only recently reappeared in Washington after having missed votes since Jan. 9, which he attributed to work travel and campaigning. Stockman is running in a Senate primary against incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas).
Stockman went on in his statement to criticize Obama for his policies, including executive actions that the congressman views as "a wholesale violation of his oath of office and a disqualifying offense."
"After five years in office Obama refuses to admit his policies have failed," he said. "He instead demands we double down on the bitter class warfare that has left Americans jobless and hopeless. Obama’s plan for higher taxes and more spending is a blueprint for perpetual poverty. The last thing America needs is more of the Democrats’ class warfare that has left our economy a barren landscape."
